Hyundai Venue Competitors

Since two E and S base trim variants of the new Venue are offered only with the 1.2-litre petrol engine, this one develops 83PS of power and 114Nm of torque; the only gearbox offered with this is the 5-speed manual one. All new versions of Venue outperformed the Maruti Suzuki Vitara Brezza and other brands last year to gain the top spot in the subcompact SUV space. The Hyundai Venue has consistently been among India’s best-selling cars thanks to its several attractive features. However, it still holds tough competition with other brands and their variants. The closest is the Maruti Suzuki Vitara Brezza which comes with a petrol-only powertrain and gets the 1.5-litre K-Series four-cylinder petrol motor that cranks out 103 horsepower and 138 Nm of peak torque. The engine comes with a five-speed manual or an optional four-speed automatic transmission.

Yet another competitor for Hyundai Venue is the Kia Sonet, also called the sister model. Kia India recently unveiled the updated Sonet with the business’s new brand emblem. Compared to Venue, the SUV still has three engine choices: the 1.5-litre diesel, the 1.0-litre T-GDI petrol turbocharged engine, and the 1.2-litre Smartstream naturally aspirated engine. The SUV comes with a price tag starting from Rs 6.79 lakhs, going up to Rs 13.25 lakhs.

Then comes the Renault Kiger, sharing its performance with Venue. The model comes with 1.0-litre naturally aspirated petrol and a 1.0-litre turbocharged engine. Moreover, it has a five-speed manual transmission, a CVT transmission and an AMT gearbox. The SUV’s price tag starts at Rs. 6.89 lakhs and goes to Rs. 8.99 lakhs.

The Tata Nexon is yet another tough competitor to Hyundai Venue. The SUV is available with both gasoline and diesel engines. The petrol version is a 1.2-litre turbocharged mill calibrated, helping to produce 118 bhp and 170 Nm of peak torque. At the same time, the diesel is a 1.5-litre motor apt for 108 bhp and 260 Nm of power statistics. You can also have a 6-speed manual transmission and a 6-speed AMT.
It has a sunroof, cruise control, a 7.0-inch touchscreen infotainment system, a Harman sound system, and much more. The price tag starts at Rs 7.19 lakhs and goes to Rs 13.23 lakhs.

Nissan Magnite is among the tough competitors listed against Hyundai Venue. This model comes with two petrol engines: a 1.0-litre normally aspirated engine and a 1.0-litre turbo-petrol engine. The 1.0-litre turbo-petrol engine is available with a manual or CVT transmission. Similarly, the 1.2-litre version gets connected to a manual transmission. It has wireless charging, a 7.0-inch touchscreen infotainment system, wireless networking, a 360-degree camera, and many other features. The cost of the Magnite starts from Rs 6.93 lakhs and increases to Rs 11.99 lakhs.

Other competitors to Hyundai Venue with similar or advanced features include Ford EcoSport, Maruti Vitara Brezza, Mahindra XUV300, and others. All these competitors are close in terms of performance and features.

Conclusion

Although Hyundai Venue may lack in some areas, considering the poor DCT transmission and the lack of a diesel automatic, the Venue remains among the top SUVs that reward the driver. Additionally, it is decently priced and gives the buyer’s investment excellent value. The one kink in the plan is the lengthy wait time – Hyundai already had a significant backlog of orders, and considering its pricing, the wait time will only get longer.

Venue’s new editions seem better than the previous ones and include more functional features. But this Hyundai SUV’s battle to stay at the front of the pack has only just begun.
